Guided by a desire for openness, the interiors of a dark and introverted Victorian residence were gutted in this renovation for a young couple in Toronto’s Casa Loma neighbourhood, retaining only the shell.

Old Meets New

A comprehensive renovation extols the finest features of this Victorian house – beautifully crafted staircase, arched front windows, and exposed red brick wall; while ushering in a clean and contemporary aesthetic.

An Empty Nesters dream

Longtime homeowners sought to modernize their classic Summerhill home to suit their evolving lifestyles after their adult children have left the nest. As frequent entertainers with ample space, the ground floor was completely reorganized to better meet their needs.

Challenged to find an alternative to the “bigger is better” trend, Lake Joseph Cottage used a series of low-slung volumes deeply embedded into the landscape.

Challenged by a chef and a landscape architect to create a new countryside residence that would be in keeping with the locavore culture so central to their farm and businesses, Creek House aimed to create a home that was not only inspired by the local cultural and natural landscapes

This Etobicoke homes shape is informed by the traditional double front gabled bungalow – a popular housing type in early 20th c. suburbs characterized by its distinctive roofline and compact footprint, while window placement, finishes, and detailing reflect 21st c. design sensibilities.

Mckenzie

A thoughtful intervention to a heritage home located in Rosedale, Toronto. With most of the century-old original brick façade retained and restored, it was possible to completely re-image the interior and rear addition in a warm and contemporary style.
